After doing a three-month acting diploma from Digital Academy in MUMBAI, under the guidance of Vinod Rawal, Ankit headed back to Raipur for a few months, before deciding to make a permanent shift to the City of Dreams.

As fate would have it, Ankit’s luggage was stolen on the train and he reached Mumbai without any money, clothes, or identification proof. Unable to rent an apartment due to the lack of money, he sought refuge at his brother’s friend’s place.

For the next 4-5 months, he shifted often, from one friend’s place to another.

Every single day he gave 6-7 auditions and his big break came when he got cast in a Cadbury ad. He then also went on to shoot a KBC promo, do small roles in movies like Fukrey and Singham Returns, and act in the show ‘ Gumraah.’.

These roles led to immense fame and recognition in Raipur. In fact, Ankit says that he has never received as much love and support as he has from the people of Raipur.

Dreams

But Ankit’s dream destination had always been filmed. After an immense struggle, he finally landed a lead role in Excel Entertainment‘s ‘3 Stories’.

As he could not take up any other major project during this time and the shoot for the movie hadn’t started yet, he started working a night shift at a call center to keep his boat afloat. During the days, he gave auditions for roles in advertisements. He also started working at a production house in an administrative capacity. Working for two jobs and giving auditions at the same time was necessary for financial sustenance.

But soon, all this overworking took a toll on Ankit’s health, and when the movie’s shoot started, he decided to bid the Call Center Farewell.

Soon, due to hectic shoot schedules, he quit his other job as well. His movie was released on 9th March & has been critically acclaimed. Now he freelances for the production company.

Ankit has only grown stronger through his struggles and is an inspiration to anyone who wants to achieve their dreams.
